If Ukrainian moves to the United States how does it make him Russian-American? Was Moctezuma II Spanish?

[edit]

Was Tadeusz Kościuszko also a Russian-American? His homeland was under Russian Empire control when he emigrated to the United States. Same with Kazimierz Pułaski. Was he Russian-American too? If Gandhi have moved to the United States would he be put in English-American category? He should have if there is any sense in calling Sikorsky "Russian-American". But it seems that this Ukrainian gets totally different treatment for some mysterious reasons. Or is it the other way around and it's people not calling Pułaski and Kościuszko Russian-Americans in wrong? UncleGoodAdvice (talk) 22:15, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality - change from Russian-American to Russian. Person was born in Russia. Cited sources explicitly say he was form Russian nationality. Being naturalised US citizen doesn't change nationality. 2A02:A315:42A5:6D00:D40F:AACD:1E3B:AD1F (talk) 11:24, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrainian-American

[edit]

Igor Sikorsky, born in Kyiv and studied at the Kyiv!

Polytechnic Institute (1907-1911). Kyiv is not a part of Russia, it was always a capital of Ukraine! His son quoted "We are very glad that there are many people in Ukraine who are proud that Igor Ivanovich was born and studied in your capital. I remember very well that my father was proud that he was born in Kyiv, and he emphasized this repeatedly." 2601:547:1502:9620:24C2:2A17:2B16:731D (talk) 03:01, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
